Position: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will play an important role in our
leadership team. You will be a hands on experienced leader with outstanding technical skills who is able
to inspire, direct, engage and develop design engineers on a variety of projects. The successful
candidate should be able to quickly integrate with our internal ISO9001 and ISO13485 systems ensuring
their application whilst contributing to our ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks to a level similar to the type of products illustrated on our company website.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis for stress and thermal modelling.
  • Provide technical mechanical engineering leadership.
  • Support the sales team by advising on potential design solutions.
  • Assisting the sales team with customer presentations.
  • Bringing the project team together by communicating the customer requirements and the project plan.
  • Be able to verify your own design and the designs of others.
  • Monitoring the progress of the design by ensuring that it is in line with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Coaching and supporting the team by ensuring they are progressing in accordance with allocated objectives.
  • Ensuring projects are completed in accordance with in-house ISO9001 and ISO13485 Quality Management Systems.

Qualifications/requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Extensive experience designing injection moulded parts. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their knowledge by way of examples.
  • At least 10 years in a complex and varied mechanical design engineering function, where designing efficiently, on time and to relevant standards is essential.
  • Significant experience as a Senior / Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with commercial accountability and technical responsibility.
  • Good knowledge of design regulations and quality standards (preferably in the medical sector).
  • Supply of designs and product with a CE declaration of conformity.
  • Candidates with ‘hands on’ engineering and prototyping skills will be particularly attractive.

Position: Office/Accounts Assistant

The Office/Accounts Assistant will play an important role by providing clerical support to the finance and project teams and general administrative support to assist in the smooth running of the business.

Duties & responsibilities include:

  • Generation of all sales invoices and processing of all purchase invoices.
  • Preparation of all necessary monthly documentation for external accountant to process VAT return.
  • To support our Project Managers with general clerical tasks as required.
  • Maintenance of filing systems.
  • Organising travel and accommodation for staff and clients as required.
  • To ensure timely replenishment of all office consumables.
  • To undertake office reception duties, both in person and on the telephone.

Key knowledge and attributes:

  • 10+ years’ experience of working as an office administrator.
  • Good organisational skills, thorough and methodical.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to manage workload by prioritisation and to use own initiative.
  • Have the skills and confidence to work across a range of individual styles and personalities from within the company and our client companies.
  • Good verbal communication skills, including a pleasant and friendly telephone manner.
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately.
  • Have a real attention to detail.
  • Have demonstrable experience of MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Car Driver/Owner
  • Non Smoker

Previous experience of working within a small business i.e. < 30 employees and experience of Sage and PowerPoint would be an advantage although not a pre-requisite.
