A warm welcome to Nick and Marco, our newest Mechanical Design Engineers.
After last year, which saw the introduction of Mechanical Design Engineer Kristian Clezy who hit the ground running from day one, we are pleased to introduce two new Mechanical Design Engineers, Marco Miglionico and Nick Anderson. The pair are a welcome addition as the beginning of the year is typically the busiest period for a product design consultancy. Marco and Nick both bring with them years of design/engineering industry experience and have immediately fit in to life in the i4 design studio.
As i4’s tradition dictates, we have always asked our new engineers a few questions to help our design team and our clients get to know them a little better.
What were your first impressions of i4?
Marco, “As a product design consultancy, i4 immediately struck me as a friendly, calm and creative environment with a very wide mix of people from many backgrounds.
Nick, “Very impressed, lots of talented individuals who are very friendly and approachable”.
What was attractive about i4 that made you want to join?
Marco, “It was a fantastic opportunity to work on a very diverse and interesting product range both in bringing my creative skills to the team and to learn new design and manufacture techniques.
Nick, “I had known of i4 for a while before I joined, as they have got a good reputation for doing some fascinating design work. As soon as I heard that there was a job opening at i4 I sent my CV across immediately”.
What did you before you joining i4 Product Design Consultancy?
Marco, “I Studied Aeronautical engineering at Glasgow University and worked at Leonardo (formerly Selex-ES) in Radar, electro-optics and laser targeting as an Industrial/Product engineer. I also previously ran my own company designing and manufacturing high performance mountain biking lights.
Nick, “I studied Sports Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Before I came to work at i4 I was a Mechanical Design Engineer for SUEZ, who are a water treatment company who specialize in UV and Ozone disinfection systems”
What are you most excited about starting your new role here at i4?
Marco, “The chance to be involved in creating new concepts in mechanical design, taking them through the prototype stage and being directly responsible for taking a customer’s vision and creating a fully functioning product that will be used by thousands, if not millions of people.
Nick, “I am looking forward to getting stuck into a whole range of products, not being limited to the one sector. I really enjoy developing new and existing products”.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do?
Marco, “I’ve far too many Hobbies, but here they are in current order of ‘doing’ Sport: Karate, running, mountain biking, snowboarding. Other: Vegetable gardening, astronomy, telescope making, Warhammer fantasy gaming with my son! I’m also a keen DIY enthusiast in the midst of a house conversion”
Nick, “Most of my hobbies are sports based, I enjoy playing golf (although I still have a lot of practice to do), I also enjoy playing football and also jogging, I hope to take part in a marathon at some point this year.
We’re really glad to have Marco and Nick’s enthusiasm and skills on the team, and we’re really looking forward to working with them on projects in the future. Happy New Year!
