Douglas Wood

Product Designer

Whilst the youngest member of the design team at i4, Doug has already amassed significant industry experience within prosthetics and polymer based safety products. He has also had the enviable job of creating alluring renderings for motoring magazines.

What is your approach to design?
Methodical but at times unorthodox. Break down and analyse the problem. Come up with as many solutions as possible irrespective of feasibility. Converge the solutions. Test… thoroughly.

What are your three favourite designed products?
Original Mini – It always makes me smile, there is one on my desk in 1/36 scale.
iMac G4 – beautifully questioned the traditional archetype of a computer. I used to own one.
Lego – Simple yet fun, and fully backwards compatible. A great tool for the imagination and for all ages.

What interests you?
Cars and photography. Both at the same time is always a bonus.
What product could you not live without?
My car because it takes me places… and also my MacBook Pro because it knows too much…
